The trial of Bukola Saraki, the Senate president continued on Wednesday, April 6, at the Code of Conduct Tribunal (CCT) sitting in Abuja.
Micheal Wetklas, an Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) detective claimed that Saraki kept on collecting a monthly salary from Kwara state government after vacating office as governor of the state four years ago and had been elected senator.
However, the Kwara state government has dismissed this claim, saying it had only been paying Saraki pension and not salary.
Nigerians have taken to social media to react to this latest report. While some are calling on the Senate president to resign, others are insisting it’s a witch-hunt.
Those calling for his resignation.
Those who think its a witch-hunt.
Those who want other top politicians to be probed too.
