“Why I Won’t Seek Vengeance Against Killers Of Abuja Preacher

General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has revealed why he will not seek vengeance against killers of Abuja preacher, Deaconess Eunice Olawale Elisha.
Forty-two-year old Mrs Elisha was hacked to death by hoodlums on June 9 at Gbazango-West area of Kubwa, a satellite town in the Federal Capital Territory while preaching early in the morning.

Bricklayer Sentenced To 3 Months In Prison For Stealing Two Packets Of Maggi In Abuja

A 30-year-old bricklayer Jeopardy John, has been sentenced to three months imprisonment for stealing two packets of Maggi cubes, by a Lugbe Grade 1 Area Court, Abuja.
He was sentenced to jail on Thursday. John, had pleaded guilty to a three-count of criminal trespass, housebreaking and theft.
“I am sorry for the act I committed and I am pleading with the court not to send me to jail.
“It was hunger that made me to steal. For some time now I don’t have job, please sir forgive me, and I promise not to steal again,’’ the convict pleaded.

The Federal Government has banned the procurement and distribution of conference bags, T-shirts and other souvenirs at events such as Conferences and Seminars funded by Federal Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
This is contained in a statement made available to newsmen on Sunday in Abuja by the Director of Information, Federal Ministry of Finance, Salisu Dambatta.

Reports reaching us is that thirteen inmates have escaped in a prison break that occurred at the Koton Karfe Medium Security Prison in Kogi State.
The incident was said to occur at about 7.10am on Saturday where the inmates were said to have broken out of their cells and escaped through the fence.

Switzerland Govt. Set To Return $321m Abacha Loot To Nigeria As They Sign MOU With The FG

The government of Switzerland and Swiss Federation Council (SFC) have indicated their readiness to repatriate the sum of $321 million from the second batch of the funds allegedly stashed away in that country by late former Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha, to Nigeria.
This was disclosed in Abuja yesterday by the Ambassador of Switzerland to Nigeria, Mr. Eric Mayoraz, after the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the SFC and the Federal Government on mutual legal assistance in criminal matters.
