Nigerian novelist Elechi Amadi, 82, died Wednesday at the Good Heart hospital, Port Harcourt, Rivers. A retired captain of the Nigerian Army, Amadi served in the 3rd Marine Commandos. He was one of the frontrunners of African literature and an award recipient of the Nigerian Academy of Letters. Amadi lived in Aluu until his death. His works include The Concubine, The Great Ponds, Isiburu, Sunset in Biafra, Dance of Johannesburg, Peppersoup, The Road to Ibadan, The Slave, Estrangement and the Woman of Calabar.

Floyd Mayweather sends $20K tax bill to strip club

For all of the money that Floyd Mayweather makes, the retired boxer is always trying to find a way to make sure he’s taking advantage of every tax break possible. In what is certainly a unique way to save money, Mayweather is seeking to write off a 2014 visit to Larry Flint’s Hustler Club in Las Vegas where the fighter allegedly spent more than $20,000 on strippers.
According to documents retrieved by the Daily Mail, Mayweather Promotions LLC sent a 1099 tax form to the strip club and wants the club to pay taxes on the $15,000 in singles thrown into the air and $5,000 he and his crew spent at the club on May 25, 2014.

Off his “Thankful” album Flavour enlists Selebobo on this wedding-themed song entitled “Mmege Mmege”.

After three weeks in the camps where they are taken through rigorous physical routine, the corp members are then posted to a place of primary assignment.
Apart from the uniform salary paid to youth corp members nationwide, state governments where the NYSC members are posted also give them some allowances.
In some states, the prices of the NYSC members differ based on their course of study, with medical corp members usually favoured.

F. Gary Gray is directing the April 14, 2017 release, which is planned to launch a new trilogy of films. Fast 8 will be followed by a ninth film to be released April 19, 2019 and a tenth film planned to hit theaters April 2, 2021. Fast and Furious 8, 9 and 10 aren’t the only films new that Universal has planned for the franchise, either. It was recently revealed that plans are underway for both Fast and Furious spinoffs and prequels.

BREAKING: At least 28 people were killed and dozens more were injured when three suicide bombers attacked Istanbul's main international airport Tuesday night, a government official said.

Istanbul's provincial governor, Vasip Sahin, confirmed the death toll from the blasts at Istanbul Ataturk Airport to the private NTV broadcaster. Turkey's state-run Anadolu news agency reported that around 60 people were injured, six of them seriously. A Turkish official told Reuters that the "vast majority" of victims were Turkish, but some foreigners were also affected.
