Biafra controversy: Revealed! What UK has been doing for Nnamdi Kanu

Reports suggest that the United Kingdom (UK) has been visiting the embattled leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi kanu, in prison.
A spokesman for the British High Commission, Mr Joe Abuku, made this disclosure in an email sent to The Punch on Friday, April 1.
Abuku was responding to an email regarding Kanu’s letter to the High Commission.
He said: “We have provided assistance to Mr. Kanu since his arrest in October last year, including visiting him regularly in prison and attending court appearances in an observation capacity.”

Kanu, who doubles as British citizen, had written a letter through his lawyer, Ifeanyi Ejiofor, stating that the British government should come to his rescue.
He had said:
“It is repeating the obvious to state that our client is a full British citizen, by virtue of, which position he is entitled to all rights, privileges and protection, guaranteed under the British laws and conventions.”
He also claimed that the President Muhammadu Buhari-led administration had violently abused his fundamental human rights through his protracted detention in prison custody.
Meanwhile, the Radio Biafra director who has been in detention since 2015, will no longer consume any food, including that provided by his family members, to avoid being poisoned by the Department of State Security (DSS).
This announcement was contained in a statement released by the IPOB and signed by its spokesmen Emma Mmezu and Dr Clifford Iroanya. A development which stems from claims that the FG is seeking to execute the Biafra leader while in custody.
