Arsene Wenger has banned his Arsenal’s players from speaking to the media in Spain ahead of their clash with Barcelona.
Arsenal play Barcelona in the two-legged Champions League round of 16
on Tuesday, February 23 while the return leg will be played on
Wednesday, March 16.
Despite the first leg being three weeks away, Wenger has moved to ban
the Spanish contigient of his squad from speaking to the media in
Spain.
According to Sport, Wenger is unhappy with his team’s performances in
recent weeks which has seen the Gunners fail to win their last four
matches in the League.
Wenger is desperate for his players to not be distracted ahead of their tie against the reigning Champions League holders .
Hector Bellerin, Santi Cazorla, Mikel Arteta and Nacho Monreal will not be permitted to face the Spanish media.
The club have received a long list of media requests for interviews with
Arsenal’s Spanish contingent but all interviews are now prohibited as
Wenger seeks focus from his players ahead of the two legged tie.
