In February 2015, Nwokocha-Ahaaiwe filed a suit challenging the competence of President Buhari to stand election into the office of president of Nigeria when he lacks the basic educational qualifications set out in the Constitution.
President Buhari has however employed the services of 13 Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN) and 10 other counsels to appeal the ruling.
The issue of Buhari’s certificate was a hot debate during the 2015 presidential election which formed the basis for over 30 lawsuits around the country at that period.
A lot of Nigerians have gone on social media to react, urging the
president to just show his certificate and stop wasting everyone’s time
by employing 21 lawyers to defend his certificate.
