Chaos erupted outside hip hop star, Kanye West’s secret gig in New
York after thousands of desperate fans stormed the venue – forcing
officials to cancel the event and requiring dozens of police officers to
disperse the crowd. Kanye was heard in a Snapchat video asking for
Mayor Bill de Blasio to shut down the block after a stampede was
imminent outside the gig.
With no room to move, the street in Manhattan’s East Village was congested with people charging to get to the front of the swarm around Webster Hall, and some fans caught in the crowd trouble alleged they were pepper sprayed as the situation got out of control. Chanting ‘Kanye’ and ‘Pablo’, fans climbed on top of cars and scaffolding, and hung out of windows to get a better view as rumors swirled that the rapper was set to perform his latest album, The Life of Pablo, outside.
