Rivers Rerun- See where Dakuku Peterside was attacked in Rivers (Graphic Photos)



– The Rivers state election re-run of Saturday, March 19, has continued to generate reactions from Nigerians
– There are calls for a state of emergency in the state following the spate of violence before, during and after the election
– Emerging reports informed that the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate during the governorship poll and the new director general of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Dr Dakuku Peterside was allegedly attacked by some hoodlums.
It was just in the early hours of the Saturday, March 19 re-run election that, Ibibia Walter, the commissioner for water resources in Rivers State, was abducted by unknown gunmen.

According to Sahara Reporters, some photos were released from the scene of the allegedly attack on Dr Peterside, which was said to have occurred around Old GRA, of the state. However, there are conflicting reports from some eye witnesses, who said the DG of NIMASA, was not really attacked.
There have been calls by some sections of the country that a State of Emergency, should be declared in the state.
As different events have been unfolding regarding the Rivers election crisis, Sahara Reporters learnt that, Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers state and some of his men stormed the police station in Port Harcourt in search of election results.
On Saturday, March 19, the governor of Ekiti state, Ayodele Fayose, accused President Muhammadu Buhari of not giving the people of Rivers a credible election. He also lambasted the security agencies in the state of harassing, intimidating and even killing members of the PDP.
The rate of political killings increased in the build up to the election, as lives were lost in which some party members of the two leading political party in the state, were either beheaded, or killed or some killed along with their family members.
