Family Mourn Ghanaian ISIS Fighter Killed in Syria

A Ghanaian, Mohammed Nazir Nortei Alemaha identified as a member of the ISIS was reportedly killed in battle in the Syrian city of Homs recently.
According to reports, Nazir who is a graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), joined the terrorist group ISIS in August 2015. The family members of Nazir were said to have received news of his death through an email.

Nazir was reported missing at his  university when he reportedly left Ghana last year to join ISIS in Syria.
Some of his classmates, said he was a quiet and calm person and they were shocked when they learnt he had decided to join the jihadist group. Nazir reportedly sent a message to his family to inform them about his decision to join the jihadist group after completing his National Service with the Ghana Statistical Service.
Final funeral rites were held for the young man yesterday and the Chief Imam, who named  Nazir when he was born in London, led the Adua prayers.
