#NaijWeddings: How I found my bride after a long wait

Simply Chidi is a popular radio presenter in Abuja whose journey to finding his true love was not exactly easy
Ufoma is from Eket in Akwa Ibomm, while Chidi hails from Ukwuani, Delta state.
The couple were married on Saturday, January 30.

it was not easy finding love, especially after “giving his life to Christ.”
He said: “Women always say they want a God-fearing man but they really can’t handle it. I was a very regular guy who had no qualms with the ladies. I had a great social life. Ladies where as easy as could be.But the day I gave my heart to God and became a preacher, all the girls I thought wanted a God fearing man fled from me.”
He said he remained five years without being in a relationship as all the girls he wanted to be with preferred the old him, that “had no ambition about them but considered fun instead.”
“It took a lot of prayers as I got tired of women. I had a terrible relationship after five years with a lawyer who churches prophesied about but it was a big mistake. She was like every other woman.”
Eventually, he found his one and only.

“The day I knelt down to pray to God, giving specifications on the kind of wife I wanted, the next day I met my
wife,” he testified. “I realized I had never prayed to God on specifications on a life partner. The first time I did, God answered.”
Chidi said Ufoma has been the best thing but has not forgotten his bad experiences prior to finding her.
He said: “It is not only women that have a problem with getting a good guy, guys have a problem too because girls say they want godliness but they are not really prepared for it. They still prefer the fun to the responsibility of true and godly commitments. I realize now God answers specific prayers not ambigous prayers.
“It was the shortest relationship I ever had but yet it turned into marriage without hitches. I think we all need God in every aspect of our lives. Both single guys and ladies should be specific and prepared for what they say they desire in a longlasting relationship. Many times we lie to ourselves. It really takes God, sincerity and faithfulness on our parts to make it work. I love my wife Blessing and she is the best.”
Chidi presents Gospel Groove on Armed Forces Radio, Abuja.
