Man United players and Louis van Gaal return from humiliating defeat - but will Ed Woodward act now?

The Red Devils returned in the early hours of Friday morning after losing out to the Danish minnows forcing fans to call for the manager's head

Manchester United's players are back on British soil after the humiliating defeat to FC Midtjylland in Denmark.
Pressure is mounting on manager Louis van Gaal after the defeat - with even their local newspaper calling for United to sack the Dutchman.
Despite taking the lead through Memphis Depay, the Red Devils were pegged back and suffered a shock 2-1 defeat to the minnows, in what could be regarded as Van Gaal's worst result to date.
Thousands of fans have signed a petition to get Van Gaal sacked immediately after the defeat.
The players, coaching staff and directors - including Sir Bobby Charlton - arrived back in Manchester after the performance and were greeted by fans.

However, there is no suggestion of animosity towards the players, while Anthony Martial posed for a selfie.
There was some positive news for United fans as the players returned, as goalkeeper David De Gea was walking without the aid of crutches after suffering an injury in the warm-up.
The Spaniard will undergo a scan on his knee but did not appear to be in much discomfort as he walked through the terminal.

In the home of Legoland, Louis van Gaal was left to pick up the pieces following another humiliating defeat for Manchester United .
United fans complained at the £71 ticket prices for this tie, branding the inflated fee a rip-off and unfurling a banner which read 'Scamdinavia'.
But the real swindle was the abject display from their own team , as a season of turmoil plumbed new depths with this defeat, one that has pushed Van Gaal closer to the Old Trafford exit door.
United executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward sat stony-faced as the enormity of this latest calamity sank in, beaten by a side that last played a competitive game two months ago before their winter break.
