1. Elliot was born 42 years ago to a Yoruba father from Olowogbowo in Lagos Island, Lagos and a mother from Illah in Oshimili North, Delta state.
2. He received his primary education at Air Force primary school and later attended St John’s college, both in Jos. In 2003 he graduated from Lagos State University where he studied Economics.
3. The filmmaker started acting in soap operas such as ‘Everyday People’, ‘One Too Much’ and ‘Saints and Sinners’ early on in his career.
4. He won best supporting actor in a drama at the 2nd Africa Magic Viewers’ Choice Awards and was nominated for best supporting actor at the 10th Africa Movie Academy Awards.
5. In 2014 Desmond Elliot moved into politics under the platform of the All Progressive Congress (APC).
6. Desmond was elected as a lawmaker of the Lagos state House of Assembly, Surulere constituency, in the April 11, 2015 Nigerian general elections.

7. In June 2015, he was sworn into office at the Lagos state House of Assembly as a member representing Surulere 01 constituency.

8. Elliot is married and has four children. He is involved in public relations for Globacom.
