On Friday, the NFF stated that it paid the sum of N20 million to the former Eagles captain on Wednesday, being his salaries for three months (December 2015, January 2016 and February 2016) and a year’s rent (half-year rent) for July- December 2015; and the coach tendered his resignation on Friday.
In a swift reaction yesterday, Oliseh denied receiving any money from the NFF, describing it as huge joke. He slammed the federation for creating the impression that he resigned upon receiving ‘his pay for job done.’
Although the NFF did not mention paying his assistant, Jean Francois Loscuito, Oliseh who berated the federation over the neglect Loscuito who he said has been sick without money to take care of his health, insisted that neither he nor his assistant, was paid any money.
An obviously angry Oliseh, yesterday threatened the Nigeria Football Federation over what he described as defamation of character over controversial 20million for salaries and rent for his time as the national team Head Coach.
But the chairman of the NFF Technical Committee, Barrister Chris Green said that Oliseh was being economical with the truth as he maintained that the former coach was paid N20 million last week.
Green also revealed that the only money Oliseh is owed is the bonus for the World Cup qualifier against Swaziland in Port Harcourt in November 2015, which the NFF had promised to pay players and officials on resumption of camping for the matches against Egypt.
There seems to be no end yet to the controversy as both parties are expected to settle their differences arising from the sudden resignation of Oliseh as the Super Eagles Coach.
