At 7.30am today (July 1) Nigerian DJ Obi beat the Guinness World Record for Longest Marathon Club DJing!
But he hasn’t stopped though he has set a personal goal
to DJ straight for 240 hours…that’s 10 whole days! Which will be a new
world record! The current record is 200 hours and as at the time of
publishing he had beaten it by 2 minutes.
So all he just has to keep going till 11.30pm on Saturday July 2nd!
It has been far from easy with the determined DJ almost giving up a few days ago. He took to his Instagram page writing,
Today was def not the best of days. For the first time in my life i woke up hallucinating, couldn’t recognize my own people. Felt very strange. Was EXTREMELY CRANKY. I forgot my location. Sao cafe looked like my uncle’s house in Bode Thomas ( no joke) from my childhood days i actually almost gave up today. But thanks to God and my people for being there and standing strong and not taking to heart my actions and stubbornness cause it wasn’t me. THE DEVIL IS A LIAR!!!! We are all going to cheer loudly on the 10th day.
For those of you wondering he’s getting almost no sleep.
He is allowed sleep 20 minutes every 4 hours, that’s a total of 2 hours
every day but he’s pushing through at Lekki’s Sao Cafe which is where
he has been stationed for the past 8 days!
Tonnes of celebs have shown their support for DJ Obi by
stopping by at Sao Cafe to show love. Some of those who have stopped by
are Timaya, Tiwa Savage, Banky W, Reekado Banks, Don Jazzy, DJ
Spinall, Ramsey Nuoah, Annie Idibia, Adesuwa Onyenokwe, MI Abaga,
