
Tinubu’s wife, who represents the Lagos central senatorial district in the Senate, on Monday July 18, Monday, wrote a letter to acting Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, seeking protection from Senator Melaye.
She accused Melaye of planning to kill her, lamenting that the Senate leadership refused to call the senator to order.
According to photos of the letter obtained from Sahara Reporters, Mrs Tinubu’s letters, separately delivered to Saraki, and APC chairman, John Odigie-Oyegun, express’s worry that the Senate had not taken action to address Melaye’s threat to her.

Women from the three senatorial districts of Lagos state and under the aegis of Concern Group (CG) on Monday, July 18, 2016 staged a peaceful protest in Lagos to condemn the alleged verbal attack launched by Senator Dino Melaye against his colleague, Oluremi Tinubu.
The protesting women expressed shock and sadness over the alleged derogatory attack against Tinubu during a closed-door session of the Senate on July 12.
The protesters displayed placards with various inscription such as ‘Melaye, Senate is not your father’s house’; ‘Dino, leave Tinubu alone’; ‘We say no to violence against women’; ‘Women folks, stand up against Dino’.
