Abubakar Tanko Ayuba who died on Wednesday
after an illness in a hospital in Lagos, was laid to rest yesterday in
Kebbi state according to Islamic rites.
The retired Maj.-Gen. was buried in his hometown. Governor Abubakar
Atiku Bagudu, Deputy Governor Samaila Yombe, Nigerian Armed Forces
representatives, Senator Mohammed Magoro, Cabinet members, state
representatives, royal fathers and many Nigerian dignitaries were at the
funeral.
General Ayuba was a former Governor of old Kaduna State, a Minister
of Communications and a representative of Kebbi State at the Nigerian
Senate between 1997 and 2007.
Ayuba 71, is survived by his wife Mrs Ronke Ayuba, 8 children one of
which is his daughter Mrs Rakiya Tanko Ayuba, the current Commissioner
for Justice and Attorney General of Kebbi State and 8 grandchildren. May
