GEJ on exile: Jonathan reacts as his ex-aide mocks Buhari over failed visit to Lagos (See Tweets)

Reno Omokri said Goodluck Jonathan has absolutely no reason to even contemplate exile


Reno Omokri has reacted to reports that former president, Goodluck Jonathan has gone into temporary self exile in Cote d’Ivoire.
It was alleged that the former president was reliably warned by security sources of the plan by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to arrest him once he steps into the country, over on allegations of corruption and misappropriation of billions of dollars during his administration. Hence, his decision to seek exile in Cote d’Ivoire.

Omokri, a former aide to Jonathan said the report was false.
According to him, the former president has absolutely no reason to even contemplate exile.

In a series of tweets, Omokri said he was in touch with Jonathan, who assured Nigerians that he has been on a multi city speaking tour and will return to Nigeria afterward as planned.

He also took a swipe at President Muhammadu Buhari whose planned trip to Lagos was canceled. He said the president’s visit to 28 foreign countries were successful but when it was time to visit Lagos, it was canceled for ‘scheduling’ difficulties’.

President Buhari cancelled his visit to Lagos on Sunday night. According to Shehu Garba, the presidential spokesperson, the cancellation was due to other busy schedule. He added that he will be represented by the vice president, Yemi Osinbajo.
