Na wa! *Love went sour*
A Lagos State University official, Samuel Ambe has been arrested over
the alleged killing of his lover, Mata Jidonu. According to reports the
deceased was married to a lawyer, Sunday Jidonu with three children.
She worked at LASU Department of Works and Physical Planning, and was
discovered to have visited Ambe on February 15 and didn’t return.
According to sunday, “I came back from the court that day around 2pm
because I was ill,” Mr Jidonu said. “On getting home, I found out that
my wife was dressed up, ready to go out. “I slept after taking the
drugs. Laura woke me up around 5pm and I asked his brother where their
mother was. I called her number but it did not go through. I called her
mother, our church and the centre, where she was doing a post-literacy
study; they all said she was not with them.”
She did not come home that day, and the following day, he reported to
the Badagry Police Division, and was still making statements when he
got a call from the community’s vigilante that his wife’s corpse had
been found.
“She was strangled and stabbed in the leg. Her private parts’ hairs
had been shaved off,” he said, and then he learnt of his wife’s
relationship with Ambe and involved the police.
” I reported to the police and eight days later, he was arrested,” Mr
Jidonu said. “As we were going to the station in a police van, he
called somebody on the telephone, telling the person in Egun language
that the fat woman had been traced to his house. He did not know that I
understand the language.”
Ambe’s phones were seized, and an investigation team found blood
stains in his house and Ambe asked Mr Jidonu to forgive him but denied
killing Mrs Jidonu.
Confirming the incident the Ogun State Police spokesperson, DSP Muyiwa Adejobi, said Ambe would be charged to court.
