The dust had barely settled after TY
Bello discovered Olajumoke Orisaguna, the photo bombing bread
seller-turned-model, when Five Star Music boss and Kcee’s younger
brother, E-Money, decided to cue in the new trend by helping a street
hawker.
E-Money sent his brother Kcee to give
the street hawker N300,000 and a new car. About two weeks later, Beauty
queen-turned-rap artiste, Munachi Abii, is the newest Good Samaritan in
town as she stunned many people when she prepared a mouth-watering dish
and fed two road side tyre repairers popularly known as vulcanizers.
Many commentators said they were not
impressed by what she did, saying she had all the time to play such a
big role as a former beauty queen. They opined that the Olajumoke
bandwagon was at work and described her action as a publicity stunt.
In an interview with Saturday Beats, the rap artiste said she did not care what people think about her gestures.
“I don’t care what people think of my
gesture; neither do I care about their comments. I have been in this
industry for too long to know that comments do not matter. What matters
to me is that I am doing the right thing. It had been in my mind and I
am glad I did it. I don’t know if I would sustain this gesture but only
time would tell. I am not feeding the needy; I am just doing my own
quota for my community. I believe that anybody that wants to do
something for the society can just go out there and make a difference. I
am just doing what I can do. I am not doing it for publicity and the
reason why I posted the picture is because I want to encourage people to
go out and make a difference,” she said.
She posted on her Instagram page, “There
is something that has been in my heart for such a long time. In my mind
I had planned an elaborate day filled with lots of delicious meals for
the people, my people ,who hardly find time to eat good with joy and
laughter because they work so hard and hardly earn enough and so I
planned to take one day in a month to celebrate the people by
celebrating them with a befitting meal. I had planned, re-planned and
planned again for my project, fortunately humans always fail but God
never fails. I was done whining, complaining and making excuses as to
why I hadn’t kept my promise. I decided to do it anyway, even if it
meant feeding one person at a time. This time, I will not give up! and
so I cooked!!! Delicious seafood Okra & my sister @antak_jessica
cooked afang soup & we set out to feed anyone we could find. it was
such a beautiful day. Oga vulcanizer and his boy never hesperrerit &
I am happy for the joy it put on their faces. #thankGod #munafeeds
#success #charity #foodie #givelove #spreadlove #happiness #love . Oh
yea, after which, I went to meet @ciara (sic).”
