The Edo State chapter of the Coalition of Unions of State Owned
Tertiary Institutions, has called on the state government to reverse the
appointment of Professor Matthew Omo-Ojugo as the substantive Provost
for the College of Education, Igueben, by the Edo State Government.
The union, in a letter addressed to the state governor,
explained that the appointment of Omo-Ojugo was done in error as it
negated the templates set by the National Commission for Colleges of
Education for the appointment of a provost.
According to the letter signed by the President, Mr. Fred Omonuwa,
and General Secretary, Mr. Imhenrion Martin, the union said that the
professor was already above 65 years, alleging that the role played by
officials of the state Ministry of Education and members of the
governing council was questionable.
