The
governor-elect of Kogi state, Alhaji Yahaya Bello has been charged
fairness and justice in the governance of the state when sworn in.
The advise was given by Ebira Community
Association(ECA),in Bauchi state on Monday when they came in their hundreds to attend a special prayer session organised by the ECA for the governor-elect in Bauchi.
They urged the governor elect to place high premium on the maintenance of peace and security of the state as well as entrench good governance to win the confidence of the people in the incoming government.
Speaking
during the occasion,the chairman of the Association,Alhaji Idris
Danyaro Oga’ana said that the incoming government must reflect the
feelings of a wide spectrum of the society to enable it carry out its
programmes,policies and projects effectively for the overall benefit of
the people of the state.
According
to the chairman, ‘‘ we pledge our unalloyed support for the incoming
administration of Alhaji Yahaya Bello,and urge the governor-elect to
ensure that adequate security,peace and tranquility prevails in the
three senatorial districts of Kogi state as well as extend hands
of fellowship to all those who contested with him and even other
political parties and beyond for the betterment of Kogi state and the
nation in general’’.
‘‘What Kogi state needs now is government to bring about economic prosperity and social development,we therefore called
on the entire citizens of the state to jettison their religious,ethnic
and political differences and support the governor and his deputy to
enable them actualize their dream of taking Kogi state to greater
heights’’.
Oga’ana
who expressed his peoples’ confidence said ‘‘ the incoming
adminstration will engender purposeful leadership and commitment to
socio-economic development of the state’’.
He
called on the governor-elect to evolve pragmatic programmes that would
harness the rich economic potentials of the state, particularly in rural
areas.
