— The 11th episode of TECNO Own The Stage, which went on air on Sunday, January 24
–Harrysong thrilled the audience with a perfect performance with his hit song Raggae Blues
As the first karaoke show in Nigeria is being rounded up, top artists have shown their support on the show.
Falz the bad guy performed at episode 10 and now in 11, Harry Song
wowed the appreciative audience with his hit single ‘Reggae-Blues.’
The show went on air on Sunday, January 24 with Vimbai Mutinhiri hosting solo in the absence of her co-host, Uti Nwachukwu.
With $25,000, a recording deal, and a brand new TECNO Phantom 5
smartphone up for grabs, Sunday’s episode also showcased what the four
contestants left in the contest planned on doing with their prize money
should they end up claiming first place at February 7’s Grand Finale.
Nandy said she had no idea yet what she would end up doing with what
was “a lot of money” while Sikin said she would, amongst other things,
get a microphone and a mixer to help with her blossoming music career.
And the Nigerian was the first of the four contestants to take to the
stage in Sunday’s episode with her a remarkable rendition of Adele’s
‘Rolling in the Deep’.
Nandy was the next contestant to take to the stage with her rendition
of Vanessa Mdee’s ‘Nobody’. And so good was the Tanzanian’s performance
that Yemi couldn’t help saying that she liked the fact that Nandy was
“fighting again.”
It was thereafter Pascal’s turn to take to the stage with a highly
emotional rendition of Sam Smith’s ‘Stay with Me’ before Sikin took to
the stage with her rendition of Zahara’s ‘Loliwe’.
But unlike in previous episodes, Sunday’s instalment of the show saw
the judges giving a second chance at redemption to the two contestants
they had adjudged to be the least impressive of the four.
Sikin and Pascal turned out to be the unlucky two and were asked to
take to the stage one more time in the hope of proving to the judges
that they were good enough to remain in contention for the grand prize.
And it seemed they both did enough to impress the judges as Yemi
later announced that no one was going to be evicted from the show and
that all four contestants would return for another shot at glory in next
Sunday’s episode.
